Discuss Terrapyre weapons and armor here. Or start your own concise topic in the Terrapyres section.

I know others, not just Terrapyres, can use Bands, but, Cris? The Band thread will be in the new sourcebook, right?

It is, Erik. As are pictures of sample Band styles
Though...
I think I need to get a sketch of a real Band to show the controls. Would that be helpful? Jennifer has one that she used for reference for her battle anthology story.

This one function very basically: The five buttons to the left are presets. Hit a button and you can automatically download a preselected item or log into a preselected server. Once in a server, users (called Banders) can use the four colored buttons to tap out patturns (think old school Simon Says) to order up different items they have memorized. This mid-quality band does not allow for browsing of the servers. The colored lines to the right shrink in length (until they disappear) to show the energy left in the Band. Hope this helps This was just my prototype for my battle anthology story. Jennifer

Because things that represent their Faith (meaning, representing their powerful belief in Christ as a real man and their knowledge of their own lineage) can become so charged by their own Living Word scripture and their own personal Faith. In the spirit of getting into the brand, here are some of my personal, everyday pieces of armor:

Jennifer? Is that a *dog* collar (a choke chain) that the wings are hung from?! That would be so incredibly *perfect* wouldn't it?! The Celestials call Terrapyres "Dogs of God" and "Christ's Dogs" or just "Dogs" or their "blind loyalty" and willingness to be humble for their Lord. Wings on a dog collar is just too awesome for Terrapyre gear. Great work.

Oh, yes, I should have mentioned that. Yeah, that was done on purpose. The collar is a dog collar (though not a choke chain). WeTerrapyres are so proud of who we are.
My next MG3K in real life project will be a wisteria and rose bramble crown woven with barbed wire. This, of course, is inspired by Terrapyre Maria and her crown of maguey (sp?) thorns in the story "Blood Trade." I'm writing and illustrating a graphic novel about Maria for first wave (Feb. 16, 2010 launch) and I think making the crown will inspire me.
I'll post pictures when it's done

Oh wow, that sounds gorgeous, Jennifer. Please do post them.
Will you also be posting pictures of your harps as you make them? There is so much religious and spiritual connections to harps and music. I wonder if they can act as channels for Terrapyre Prayers? Act as weapons or armor of some sort? I can see them as both, really. Channeling prayer power into a weapon, or the sound creating some kind of defensive barrier of protection. I can imagine Terrapyre parents playing a harp, sitting beside the bed of their sleeping children to keep them safe.

Good idea. I'll post pictures of the harps as they're completed. They are rumored (in mythology) to have powers over angels so that will work into Mardi Gras 3000 quite well.

Tue Jul 07, 2009 10:17 pm Okay, I finished the crown today. Made of barbed wire, rose stems, wisteria, raspberry vines, birch clippings, and grape vines. Maria wears her's as a garland, of course, not tilted back as in the picture, but I wasn't interested in the image being misunderstood as blasphemous. I think the crown turned out really well!

Jennifer, that is *so* cool! I mean... kinda creepy, grrl, but awesome all the same. Will the green fade as the vines dry? Do you envision that Maria wears the maguey thorn crown always or that over time she wears other crowns? Hm... should we continue this in the Maria thread? Probably, huh? I mean, I can't imagine another Terrapyre doing the crown of thorns thing!

I made a whole bunch of these (sans barbed wire, though) a number of years ago. Yes, the green fades, but the wysteria in particular becomes rigid and holds the form nicely.
