Considered the ultimate "Big Bad" in the MG3K universe, Eris' primary skill is Cloak, the ability to conceal all vital statistics (weapon and armor, skills, whether or not the immortal is holding the Grail, etc.) from other Immortals. This character has been assigned to writer Eric Chen. Eris is currently featured in: "Mind and Matter" and "Shakuhachi" in the Crusade Battle Anthology; Reciprocity: Prologue, available as a bonus feature in the graphic novel Blood Trade: Sangre Comercio.

In the Players Handbook will be rules to play the Mardi Gras 3000 Trading Card Game and fiction set in the universe. The first story is "Immortal Dreaming" by Pahmela Angel, an excellent story that touches on six characters. The second story is "Immortal Waking" which also touchs on six characters but with each short written by a different author. My name is Eric Chen and I am honored to be the official writer for Eris, arguably the most evil and more fascinating Celestial in all the MG3K universe. Here is my piece about Eris that will run in "Immortal Waking." Enjoy. Please go to the MG3K Fiction Collection to read Eric' story: www.mardigras3000.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=215

I think I'll edit into the story that Eris' Skills are Cloak and Presence. This is why he was able to hide his intentions almost completely from the other Celestial (Cloak) and this is why he was able to mesmerize the Terrapyre for a time (Presence).
Hope everyone enjoyed the story. I love being here.

Wow. Chills. Had to take a moment before responding. Very good... but I don't think I'll be sticking my tongue out at Eris again any time soon...

Nor do I, Launa. I think when my own Orcus tried to hit Eris that Orcus was actually in the grip of a fever or some other sickness.
In truth, Eric, I found "Immortal Waking: Eris" to be amazing. I did not think it was too dark but rather a perfect introduction to this character. You clearly have the marketing of the brand in mind and not just alone the Mardi Gras 3000 brand but the Eris brand. I am pleased to be a Celestial writer.
Your effortless creation of the future time and small strokes to create the setting were most satisfying to me. I struggle with that challenge. Estella as my translator is also very good at pointing out when I say too much. You seem to me to do this naturally.
My favorite part of the story was when Eris speaks to the Grail. I found this most realistic and even moving.
I was pleased to see what your stpry appears to me to be set in early or middle Prime Time. My story posted tonight is set in the spring of 1450 AD. I think that "Immortal Waking" being at many different times is so engaging. Much like your story builds your Eris brand, "Immortal Waking" builds the Mardi Gras 3000 brand as a cross-era brand. This is a very good thing.
Now I have two questions for you. Both are serious though Estella is making me laugh about them. But it is very early for us after a long night or play-testing. Here are my questions for you:
If Eris does not care for hats to wear, how does he come to be wearing one in his picture on the card?
Why does Eris dislike Bei'Selans so much or was it just because the stranger Celestial called him brother?
Thank you, Eric. You have great talent.

lol, Luz, you're right! That is probably the most prominant hat of all the Celestial cards, now hat I think of it. That card might have to be altered or something.
I noticed the time periods as well, Luz. I think it would be great for all the stories to range vastly, showing many different spectrums of the Immortal world, joined simply by the Grail. Immortal Dreaming is like a line, connecting all immortals. Immortal Waking will be a wheel, entirely different spokes joined at the center. How perfect for the game and the brand.

I couldn't agree more, you three. "Immortal Waking" was an incredible idea from the very beginning but the care you all are bringing to the brand is remarkable. You're not just writing, you're *working* this project. Thank you.
Eric? I am still having chills. Your Eris is beyond my imagining and I mean that in a good way.
Perhaps the hat should be removed and collar-length black hair should be added? Can you do that Luz? Or someone else? What would you need?

I could work on the card over the weekend. Would you send me a higher resolution image, EJ? I will also email Jennifer and Gille for it as I am uncertain who has the archive of artwork. I will do my best.

Luz,
I just sent you a 4K KB of Eris. Is that high enough? Just let me know. I asked Jennifer for the image a few days after I signed on. I also sent you an image of the hair style that I imagined. I'm really NOT looking for a Professor Snape thing. Eris' Ornate Form is so much more subdued compared with other Celestials but this has more to do with his strict upbringing in Gwandiis than anything else.
I look forward to the new image. Though I was inspired by the original card, my Eris diverged from that image almost immediately.

After reading your story, Eric, I've decided two things:

2. Probably the only celestial I actually like. =]
Wonderful job. Seriously. Creepy cool. Shivery. Eris rocks.

Eric,
Here is the image. I did my very best. You can know say that Eris is a many layered Celestial and truly mean many, many layers.
My best friend Julia told me that Professor Snape is from "Harry Potter" which I have not read or seen the the movies. I read almost all nonfiction and so Julia explained to me that the Snape character is pale, greasy and not healthy looking. I hope that my Eris does not fit this description. I was able to use both the card image and the beautiful hair image that you sent. Thank you. I hope so much that you like it.

Luz... I cannot begin to tell you how much I love this image. This is *my* Eris. *Our* Eris, meaning the Eris for all of us writers. No, this is not Snape. This is a robust, evil but fully real and complex man. You've managed to show Eris as more than just a caricature of evil. He can almost pass for sane. Almost
Thank you so much, Luz. You obviously took time and invested a lot of thought. I LOVE it.

Luz, you are really talented. I mean that. I *love* your story and I *love* your alters of the Eris, Elijah and Chiron cards. They're perfect now. Eris especially really looks like the character not just a spooky image that we can read into. We need some other edits done too. I'm going to post these on your personal topic, okay? (Hint, hint.)
