 Angelus' primary Skill is Grace, the possession of incredible fluidity and grace and/or amazing speed. Individuals with this Skill move faster than other Immortals. The ideas for the Angelus' origin novel were originally created by Pahmela and Poulan Angel. Those ideas were taken as inspiration for the novel is being written by Cris K.A. DiMarco. Angelus is currently featured in: "Immortal Dreaming" (available in the Mardi Gras 3000 Player's Handbook). |

Tue Sep 16, 2008 9:13 am This is how *I* imagine Angelus. I know he's supposed to look older - but Josh Groban has always looked like him, at least to me. At the very least, I imagine Angelus could have looked like Josh when he was younger. I think I pretty much just summarized what E.J. said - but that's all that Launa and I had talked about. I've combined all of the information about Angelus into one post.
Let me say also, officially, I agree that Angelus would resemble Josh Groban. Though Angelus would not have the same kind of classical voice training as Josh, his voice would be as beautiful.
Angelus is born in Greece in 1465, where he is given the name Aggelos. He grows up in a monastery on Mount Athos. He's very happy there and a blessing to all the other Brothers. It is here that he begins to sing and play the lute.
In the early part of the 20th century, Aggelos is living in Astoria, New York, which is a primarily Greek area of Queens. He is well known in that neighborhood, and very active in the oldest and largest Greek Orthodox Church, St. Demetrios. The first home he owns is located here (and is still standing). During WWI, he's involved in the Pacifist movement, which is, at that time, also connected to Socialism.
In early Prime Time, Aggelos meets Chorus through their mutual friend and performance artist, Faith. The Neroian Nights--the movement characterized by a backlash against Christians--occurs during this time period. Aggelos changes his name to Angelus. His band, the Archangels, is actively touring during most of Prime Time.
In terms of his physical appearance goes, his features are sharply chiseled and he is quite handsome. His features are decidedly Mediterranean, notably his olive-skinned with dark hair and eyes. He wears his hair long and most of the time, it falls past his shoulders.
His personality has been shaped by the fact that he was brought up on Mount Athos. His needs are simple and he is just as comfortable sleeping on the floor as in a bed. Luxury for its own sake makes him uncomfortable.
He tends toward introspection. He is not one to instigate a conversation and is comfortable with silences. His manners are impecable; he is extremely polite and can be quite gentlemanly. He is fiercely protective of those he loves as well as loyal. He has many aquaintences, but few true friends, and those tend to be Terrapyres or Companions.
No one ever remembers a time he lost his temper over mundane frustrations and occurances, but when roused to righteous anger, will be a formidable adversary.
He is fluent in Greek (ancient and modern), Latin and English. He prefers to read poetry, but has a lifelong interest in world mythology. He is an eloquent speaker and writes all the lyrics to the band's songs.
He is rarely impressed with physical beauty but intellect, faith and a love of music are the most common characteristics of his friends.
His Skill, which is Grace, can be observed not only in battle, where he employs a number of fighting techniques, from swordplay to Parkour, but also in his daily life. The way he moves, walks, holds his body all demonstrate his physical athletic prowess.
He is the only Terrapyre who has wings, which are white. They are large enough to support his weight, and he is primarily able to glide on them. Were you to see him coming toward you, he would look more like a bird of prey--large wingspan, slow wing beats--rather than the flapping motion of smaller birds' wings.
Angelus' wings emerge anytime the Grail drops within ten miles of his location. He is not, however, an Angel: He is a Terrapyre.
He has a son, who is no longer in his life, and he misses him terribly.
