Kara Thorne was born in Chicago, Illinois, in 1924 AD, to a Human mother and Fallen Angel father. Though they told her she was a Terrapyre, she never really believed them and lived out her childhood like any child of the times.

Kara's Awakening happened slowly, not all at once, and was mostly vivid dreams and instincts. She came to realize that her parents personal mythology was true but she still didn't see how it effected her; after all, it had never really effected their lives. Both her parents lived normal mortal time spans and Kara had never seen the Grail or a Celestial.

Kara Primed at 40 (in 1964) and by 45 realized that she truly was not aging. Though she does feel much stronger at night, she does not like this feeling especially since she tends to be able to read minds at night and she can't stand this. Kara has no idea what her Skill is. She tends to stay alone in her study reading at night.

Kara loves teaching and has continually, over the years, used various means to re-earn her teaching certificate and hold positions at several collages teaching Literature. In 2020, Kara met a horse rancher and poet, David, who would become her husband. Their only child, Melissa (a Terrapyre), was born in 2027.

In 2043, David (a Human) died of cancer. In 2047, Melissa (Missy) was thrown from a horse while riding alone and died three days later.

In 2052, when my illustrated story "Crusade" opens, Kara is still pretty much on leave from Revere College, only teaching one seminar course once a week. She misses teaching but only finds solace with her beloved horses.

I had no idea that Kara would become so popular but according to all of you lurkers and members, she and Pelucir have really touched a nerve. Today I got news that according to our server, my "Crusade" illustrated story passed to 200 downloads mark! Thank you all!

(I know you're all not checking this thread or I think the view count would be higher, you sneaky downloaders, you!)

I wanted to use this great moment to announce that Pelucir will make an appearance in story #6 in the "Hylonome" anthology. I just received my official permission for the (tasteful and relevant) cross-over and... just as exciting... even though I'm only writing the text for the story, Erik Egan will be illustrating it!

Exciting, huh?
