Both prior to the Grail's first appearance on Hom and after, Celestials have used genetic engineering to create fascinating flora and fauna both to suite their work needs and their aesthetic desires. However... genetic engineering is not allowed -- strictly forbidden! -- on a Celestial himself. What is unknown to the general Celestial populace, is that a group of Gwandii Elders and Refineds did indeed engage in this very thing (back before the Grail came to Hom). They went so far as to illegally cross province lines (the provinces were closed before Unification) and kidnap rare Celestial children (genetically abnormal children) in order to harvest rare genetic material. A forthcoming story in the Player's Handbook will include a story of one such child.

This strange genetic engineering might give a Gwandii Celestials abilities not normally seen in the universe.

I had these images in my files. Early True Forms for Eris, Michell, Ganymede and Pholus. They may not be the patterns used in the finals but they show True Form pretty well.

Other forms are abilities (morph form) or simply projected communication methods (Celestials accessing VR or walking the Great Archive's "virtual" chambers).

Something I picked up while going through my facts from pre-scrubbed forum. To give background to "fifth form" and Morph/summoning.

Celestials can take a fifth form in a virtual environment, entering the virtual world as they would enter the Archive files on Hom. In this fifth form, the Celestial resembles True Form but instead of a relativity solid humanoid form of swirling patterns and colors, the humanoid form would be more of an empty humanoid-shaped shell of scrolling binary code. If the Celestial has three primary colors, then they would have three layers of codes, strings of 1s and 0s, each scrolling vertically, one in each color. Their eyes would be solid swirling colors as in True Form, no white or pupil.

Celestials in fifth form are as real and brilliant as the rare laced Terrapyres. They appear and affect the senses in a very real way in a virtual setting. They are also very good at virtual espionage and other virtual missions because of this brilliant reality.

When Celestial children are just born, they shift in and out of a pale, maleable ornate form and their true form. They look humanoid. Once a Celestial reaches toddlerhood, they conjure a soft, plain mask and a basic outfit as ornate form, though they tend to prefer to stay in their true form, enjoying they colors in their bodies as they start to become more complex.

Celestial toddlers quickly begin to show an affinity either for morphing or summoning. A child that will morph is driven to collect morphs, trying to assimilate everything around them much like a human toddler tends to want to put everything in their mouths. A Celestial who will summon forms relationships with various animals and spends an enormous amount of time with animals. This can, of course, become very stressful for the Celestial parent.

I think, in True Form, Celestials naturally have a mouth (with teeth and tongue) as well as ears. All are made of same substance, however -- no difference between a hand surface and a tongue, for instance.

Moving right along:

Any animals that eats must also eliminate waste. This is done by Celestials through their back sweating. Celestials do not sweat for other reasons. Their sweat smells salty. Celestial shower frequently to stay clean. They do not bathe to get clean (they bathe -- soak -- to eat).

Only nursing mothers have nipples in True Form. All other Celestials in True Form have smooth, molded chests (as shown in the pictures posted by Launa and Jess).

Celestials do not have genitals.
