EJ? These bikes, especially the one-wheeled ones... can you tell us a little bit about them? Or link to articles about them? They look *incredible*... It seems that Prime-Time keeps approaching even faster...

Glad you like them! Most of these are all working bikes that are available right now (only one or two are fictional or concept bikes). The sleeker bikes are hybrid, which is awesome, and even the one-wheeled ones handle pretty much the same as the traditional bikes... though, expect higher speeds for all of these. The lighter materials (though stronger than steel) are really pushing the limits. But look at the jet man post! He's clipping at almost 200 mph so the human body can take the extra amps.

Oh, grrl, that's my kind of inspiration.
These bikes are truly beautiful. I love how Prime Time really isn't so far away... It's *now*, you know?

EJ, that's actually a great idea. I'll consider that. Brianne, you know, you're very right. Especially in the world of transportation and other industries driven by fossil fuels. Changes in the world are so often (always?) fueled by the political/cultural environment. People want everything "green" and so even huge car companies are researching and producing greener cars. As for motorcycles in general, we're seeing a huge spike in sales because they're cheaper (by and large) to maintain and fuel. Motorcycles cease to be something uncommon, niche, or only driven by biker guys Jennifer

Very true. I know for people around my age (early twenties), it also helps that you also don't have to have insurance. As the economy is continuing to have problems, I've known more friends (who work entry level jobs) to find small bikes like the Kawasaki Ninja, pay for it in cash, and then only have to worry about gas.

Especially Terrapyres. Living on the wild side. They heal so fast, after all.

After the sweet talk of the Kawiyota bikes, I just had to share this one: A tiny car company Lightning Hybrids showed it means business at the Denver Auto Show this week, rolling out the first prototype of the LH4, a 100MPG speedster with a hydraulic-biodiesel hybrid drivetrain that can zip the tight four-seater from 0 to 60 in 5.9 seconds. The ambitious Colorado company with a staff of 12 says the car will be ready for production in 2011, with a three-wheeled version rolling out even sooner, in 2010. The 100MPG cars are expected to sell for between $39,000 and $59,000, and are candidates for the Automotive X-Prize, with $10 million going to the winner of a stage race of 100MPG vehicles. This is one wild-looking ride, with its split rear window and lift-up door hatch for easy entry. Its three-cylinder turbo biodiesel is augmented by a hydraulic pump/motor, whooshing an additional 150hp into the wheels of this pocket rocket. Amazing. * * * Maybe this Lightning company should be a contender in PT? Pip 3.26.2010 at 9:35pm Cris wrote: Pip, Sweet ride. There are definitely more modes of transportation mentioned in the new Sourcebook, beginning now through PT. I found so much cool stuff to share with everyone.. But I didn't see this one. Oooohhh. If so, I think Summer has a good question. What is the leading computer brand and operating system in forty years at starting of Prime Time? Just wanted to re-post this and correct my incorrect spelling "Yes, Luz, I made all the best cycles (those owned by Terrapyres) Kawiyota brand. They came in two "flavors" -- J Models and L Models. J Models run on "juice" (filtered water) and are more powerful. L Models run on light -- either sunlight, moonlight, or even electric light. J Models run with horsepower of 1200, 950, 850 and 650. L Models run with 650, 450, 350, 150." Actually, the brand is spelled Kawayota. I modeled the style (the look of the bike) after this image: A rendering of this bike (along with the little haiku -- you catch my eye right / silver red arrow head of divinity's speed) will be on a rare card that ships with the novel, "Elijah: Nature of the Beast."

Check out these ... Micron is one company interested in building electric cars. Here’s a look at their prototype. The Arbo concept is a futuristic transportation vehicle that has been designed with an extremely extraordinary appearance. This capsule-like electric car has two modes. When it is in driving mode, it’s quite hard to distinguish the front and rear end, and when it’s in arbor mode, the doors lift up with the roof above, making a perfect open place to enjoy the road. It comprises two batteries, the primary battery can be charged via usual 220v electricity, and solar energy has been used to charge the secondary battery. To make it more efficient, these two recharging system have been designed to share the resourced by supplying power to one another when anyone comes lack of power. Cris

Magic Tricycle. This unique vehicle, designed by Iranian Seyyed Javad Ghaffarian, was actually inspired by the Transformers movie. It’s called Magic Tricycle because it uses three wheels during highway driving. If you find yourself in busy traffic then the machine will work its magic and will “rotate around a longitudinal axis running from the front to the rear right wheel with the left wheel elevated into the air so the vehicle can be ridden as a motorcycle.” In order to remain steady when the seats are rotated to settle the occupants upright, the airborne wheel will unbind just like a helicopter tail propeller. With this design, Javad won the 2008 Car News Design Contest and we was very pleased with his performance. “One of the biggest challenges in this concept was designing it in such a way to be beautiful, attractive and harmonic in both its two shapes” he said.
