Discuss Fallen Angels here. Or start your own concise topic in the Others section.

There are six types of Angels in MG3K mythology. Several of them have been renamed as we approach National Edition launch but their roles remain relatively unchanged. As I posted on the sticky in this section, MG3K does not encourage stories that focus on Angels. The Angels (of any various type) play specific and hidden roles in the mythology and should not be over-used (or used at all) by authors from September 1, 2009, onward. To "get your angel on" and write about Angels some, post in the fan fiction section please.
The six types of Angels are:
Angels of the Lord: Messenger Angels Host Angels Fallen Angels
Angels of Lucifer: Harbinger Angels Minion Angels Risen Angels
Fallen Angels were once Host Angels. But they disagreed with the Lord on something. Not something so bad or so huge that they were exiled into Lucifer's unnamed realm, but something big enough that they were forced from Heaven an returned to Earth. They can re-earn redemption but they will never be Host Angels again.
Unlike Risen Angels (see Risen Angel thread), Fallen Angels appear on Earth the same age they were in Heaven. Like Risen Angels, they are mortal. They are also exceedingly beautiful... and, when they have children with Humans, all the resulting off-spring are Terrapyres.

On the topic of wings, Fallen Angels have wings. They can choose when to manifest them. They are natural colors (any color found on a bird). When they manifest their wings there is the scent of lilies or irises in the air for a moment.
On the topic of Skills, Fallen Angels do not have Skills.

EJ,
Do you still want this information about Fallen Angels included in the Sourcebook?
(From the 01-09 SB):
1. The infractions which cause them to be cast out of Heaven are vast and varied and may include: questioning God, particularly when it pertains to a decision regarding Humans; arguing a point of Scripture, or visiting Earth without permission.
2. At twenty-five, give or take a year or two, they awaken to their purpose and then begin their “mission toward redemption” in earnest. This could manifest in any number of ways from a life devoted to helping others (think Mother Theresa) to a life devoted to bringing the word of Christ to others (think Miriam Sunchild) and perhaps even to a life in science or medicine (especially research) that would benefit a large number of humans or solve a critical problem such as global warming or hate mongering.
Their innate personalities would draw the people to them who could help make this happen. They would be able to find the common ground between disparate groups of people and draw out those personality traits which would enhance a sense of belonging among those involved with the Angel's redemption. Fallen Angels desire loyalty, a sense of belonging and most of all a sense of purpose. They will feel incredibly driven to continue to move forward on their path toward redemption. This they will value above everything else. Their desire for redemption and to return to Heaven will shape every moment of every day.

Yes to #1, no to the rest I'd like to leave the rest open to the few writers who will be tackling (or have tackled) these characters Thank you, Cris, for allowing me this chance to revise. EJ

Does there continue to be a connection between the harp and Angels (Fallen or otherwise) in the MG3K mythology?

I vote for yes I always thought that the harp-Angel mythology was unique and made Angels even more interesting. Just my two cents. Brianne

Okay. So is that live connection why Jared plays the harp and not a classic Egyptian instrument? That would make the harp choice really interesting.

I think it would make sense. I vote yes, also. Harps are sweet. Anyway, lots of different cultures have types of harps. I mean, there's the autoharp, the orchestral harp, the lyre, etc. etc., so any kind of Angels (even fallen ones) could probably play the harp of whatever civilization they're a part of. Perhaps they were the originators of the different kinds of harps throughout history.

That is a very good point that you are making, Abbie! Almost every culture has a type of harp. I will vote "yes" as well very much.
