As you may have noticed, MG3K is not particularly uptight. So when our authors, fans and *everyone else* wanted to write publicly we thought, "Hey, why not?"
So, here's the breakdown, friends:
Official Fiction: This is where official pieces that will one day be in print, but are free to the public now, are shared. What official fiction is shared is decided by the publisher (not by the authors).
Fan Fiction: This is where anyone, official writer or not, can jump right in. This is not official fiction. Not all facts might be correct, but all of it is amazing fun. More than once, fan fiction has become official fiction when a story catches the publisher's eye.
MG3K Online Roleplaying: These are group story projects where you pick a character and adventure right here on the forum. Anyone can play. RPGs have been known to become official stories and have been used in various formats in the mythology, so enjoy and start world building.
Carded Character Threads: In the Carded Characters sections, official writers may write official, forum-only fiction on their character threads.
Parallel Lines: Creators of parallel lines will often post fiction about their worlds and characters in these threads.
