... okay, so these vids are amazing and I just discovered them now, just a few minutes before I have to leave so I've only been able to sample them but I have to say up front...
Brianne? I sat and watched these vids on slow, frame by frame, just to see the new card art. These look amazing. I know you have been told before, but let me repeat: You have a gift. As an author and a lover of the game and universe, thank you for bringing it to life.

Grrls, the videos are excellent. But just that doesn't really do justice to the hours of work you put into the series so let me continue.
Together, your team scripted, shot, filmed, refilmed, edited and cut just under thirty minutes of video with a professional edge that doesn't lose its home-grown flavor. This was no easy task... or someone else would have already done it. It seems if there is *hard* work to do, then the task falls on 7419 like a storm. You all know that I'm not much of a religious person, but the fact that God seems to have given your team there the exact skill set you need did not escape me.
In teaching old and new players both Basic and Advanced play, you had an enormous amount of information to share and the presentation is fast and furious. You had limitations on length because of YouTube, because of time-crunch, because of your young squirrel actor, and a lot of milestones you had to hit. Even with all of this, the scripts are very tight, the sprinkles of humor are wonderful, and the narration delivery (especially the direct-to-camera segments) is cougar-mama perfect.
But there is another specific reason I wanted to post. Yeah, I wanted to say thank you for doing all of this -- several *dozen* hours while balancing school, jobs, bills, a min-ranch, and more -- for no reward. Other than the feeling you must all have right now inside yourselves. A co-worker of mine was hired to create an eight-minute YouTube for a local SF/F con. He had a team of six. It took them five days, eight hours a day, to script, shoot, film, edit, and otherwise finalized. They paid him (his team worked for free) $2800.
And your series is better.
I hope you all know your own worth. If not, let me take this moment to remind you all.
Gille
P.S. Jennifer, grrl... I didn't realize how much I've missed your facial expressions and vocal mannerisms. I miss you, BFF. Please come down and visit when you can.

There's a line for the two computers, peeps! :} Grown ups all went out together (that's me, T, Mom, Sophie, and Angel) to catch a midnight of AVATAR. Totally will not steal the videos' thunder by talking about the movie here (uncool) but we're all home now and watching the vids again and again.
I know that the handbook is the major place where people will learn. I get that. But the vids are sweet. Since T won the deck for recruiting, we've seen Brianne, Summer, and Jennifer's new card art and Estella's sharp new design before, but to see all the rare cards that don't come with the deck was incredible.
I am so stoked to play!!
Question: I'd love to get my eyes on the cards shown in the vids. When will close ups (with watermarks) be added to the forum? Will it be listed what fiction they ship with?
My favorite part: The mix of film and stills.
Pip (this the champ until one of the noobs dethrones me -- as Mama J dared them!!)

I cannot think of anything better to say than all the details that Gille shared already above. Except how much I loved the parts with Maxwell and Brianne together. I did not know the other boy with the blue hair and I was sad that a grrl had not been given a role at first. I think Maxwell was adorable and I just laughed and laughed when he rubbed his little paws together because he still had a chance to win. As a player, I thought the description of the game was very good even if it had to be very fast. That is what the replay is for. I had not know exactly how the Coordinate Card, GPC, or Specials worked and it was exciting to know now. I feel I have all the foundation and can now start to train to de-throne Pip Thank you, Team Mardi Gras, for the perfect series. Teresa

I ate too much popcorn at the movies and so it looks like I'm last to battle for computer time here on the LA coast. Hopefully, Sophie won't post after me and make me sound like a dummy -- she's going on and on about how specific parts of the videos are so well thought out and so balanced. She does this kind of thing (trailers and videos) with work and I don't really. I help... but I don't handle it all the way you all do, up there in Washington. All I can say is:
Seeing the series is like a dream come true. It made it all real. Strangely, more than anything else so far.
Thank you.

I really pleased that everyone likes the video series so much. I know they are as polished and glossy as some of the other video projects we have forthcoming, but they work for the task Everyone worked so very hard and gave of their time... and more time... and then some more time... so freely. It was an incredible process. Jennifer

I loved the videos also! Finally waddled over to Youtube and watched them - I too laughed at Maxwell's antics. And, Jen, grrl, you need to get a job as a news anchor. Though, I'm not sure if you'd have time...

LOL! I don't think I would, Abbie... plus the news can be so sad I'm not sure I could handle it. I'd be like, "And *then* the rock fell off the mountain and *sob sob* just nearly crushed the kitty cat and *sob sob* there were these awesome rescue workers but *sob* they were busy rescuing a school bus of children and so the kitty cat was *sob* he was *sob* eaten by a coyote! *sobbing uncontrollably* And that's all for the news tonight in Kitsap County. This is Jennifer *blows nose* DiMarco saying good-night and God bless." Yeah... not a good scene I'm glad you liked the videos though

Just when I thought the YouTube video adventures were over, there's going to be a fourth one! We need a dynamic introduction to the universe video to fit into the new website (which is being called the "launch website"). Eeek :{ Good news: All this website work is making me look forward to going back to work on the novel LOL!

*Love* the look of the MG3K launch website, Jennifer. I can't wait to see the new introductory video - it will really be the icing on the cake! Will you be able to use existing footage that's left over from shooting the previous videos? That might save you a bit of tine... Thanks for taking the time to give us an update!

Glad you like the look, Becky. The goals of the new site (the launch site) are: maturity, light on text, heavy on clarity.
Oh Abbie! I actually *want* to so badly. I will try to sleep more. It'll go down like this: site, then video, then uploading the site, then back to writing. Um... with sleep thrown in! Ah... sleep, sweet sleep.
We're considering buying a premium brick wall facade to film "live" segments in front of. It would be cool to have it covered in MG3K graffiti... I just need to find a graffiti artist!

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeell...I'm not exactly a graffiti artist...yet...but I could figure it out, I'm sure. Maybe buy a book on it and just, sort of try some stuff out. Any excuse to visit Washington and see the publishing house and YOUSE GUYS is a great one.

Oh! Holy cow! That would be *awesome*!!
I was all set to do this:
Put a list on Craigslist. Offer name credit and $100 plus supplies. Ask for someone willing to paint Mardi Gras 3000 in a cool, colorful, urban hip style. Plus a grail (plainish, goldish, blue tears within). I'd ask the artist to do it twice (once on board, once on the costly brick wall facade).
I was nervous about working with a stranger. Abbie... that would be so amazing... but so expensive for you, kiddo!!
