I assume that the wing charms are in support of Fallen Angels and the dog chain... well, that's obviously (says Fermat).
This got me thinking...
Would Terrapyres, who love jewelry and ornamentation, have charms for their Skills? Like a key for Key, and wings for Grace, etc. What do you think?
Presence = Sun Vanish = An Eye Key = Key Cloak = Moon Lead = An Open Hand Grace = Wing
Or...?

This is a great idea. I've often wondered how much Terrapyres would "show off" their Skills. I mean, I think they would be proud of them and what Skill (or Skills) someone has says a lot about them as a person. Just as, in some communities, individuals wear wristlets or colors to display certain facts, I think Terrapyre culture speaks perfectly to calling out one's Skills.
As for the actual symbols you suggested, EJ, like them all (though, trust me, the wings on my boots are about angels, not me having Grace LOL! I'm too much of a scruffy rat to have anything to do with grace!) except an open hand for Lead. The issue there, in my opinion, is that an open hand looks like someone holding up their hand to say, "Stop." as opposed to, "Follow me" or "I will lead you." What about a raised fist? Just a thought.
Anyone have another idea?

I agree about the fist. I think it works very well and, honestly, it makes me think of lead in a bit of a different way. I don't know how I can explain it. Of course, Leads are leaders, but I think this symbol makes them seem a bit more powerful to me. Do you think that Leads, by nature, are more socially or politically aware? Like their personality is more prone to activism?

Yeah, I always say Lead that way. Maybe we should do some brainstorming about the personality traits that might come with the Skills?

AreaneCreator wrote: I think that would be very interesting, actually. What traits may come with the skills. Like people with cloak could usually be more introverted or people with grace may be more interested in the arts. (just suggestions)

Awesome, Launa! Thanks Before we begin, a quick disclaimer: These are just what is common. Not *all* Immortals with a specific Skill will exhibit all or any of the additional elements.
Okay then!
Let's start with my personal favorite: Lead
Ability in Game Play: Carry any number of allies with you during a move.
Ability in Mythology: A natural leadership ability. Even those wary of a leaders will follow someone with Lead. Also, enemies and others will notice and even fixate on someone with Lead, paying less attention to any followers under the Lead's protection.
Additional Elements: Leads tend to be politically aware (Human and Immortal politics). They grasp the "larger picture" very well and tend to overlook the smaller interpersonal details. They are strategists and protective. They are self-sacrificing. They believe in active protest and extreme measures. They are in-your-face, not subtle. They can be intense. They can seem so driven they are heartless. They believe in tough-love. They don't tend to be talkative.
Anyone know someone like this? A leader people can't help but follow? Want to add some elements to this list before we go on?

Hmm. I think, if a Lead found a group to latch onto, that they would care very much about their followers, become even fiercely protective.
Also, do we want to talk about "little skills" that may be associated with lead? Like, traits and skills that have nothing to do with being immortal, but may commonly manifest in an immortal with a certain skill. Like in an RPG. You pick a character type, and then have minor skills that go with that character.
For example, a Lead might have: Minor precognative skills, (you already mentioned a gift for strategy), perhaps good public speaking skills, charisma, etc.
Also, I would think that, because of the nature of Lead, if a Lead were to try to learn another Skill, Presence may come more easily than any other Skill.
Do you agree?

Many Immortals, as we all know, have a primary and a secondary Skill. Though interesting characters can mix this pairing up, I've always seen these combos as most common:
Lead/Presence Grace/Key Vanish/Cloak
I suppose this may have been in my mind from the beginning because these combinations were how Chorus, Elijah and Angelus were cast in "Immortal Waking" but they also just make a lot of sense.

I have one more question: What do you think *negative* traits might be for a lead? Impatience, perhaps? Or... ?
