Thank you so much! That is perfect for my story. I have always loved Edo shrines and now I'll have more reason to have Hylonome visit them Also, I will ask my question in the Celestial Morph section. Thank you! Launa

Jennifer, thank you so much! I remember reading about your computer troubles. Thank you for going through so many files to try to hep us. Good lucking finding the other pids for IMVU. I hope you can. Launa, I think that the reason Celestials could not morph and hide perfectly because of their eyes is exactly why they would come often to be shun and killed at the stake or stoned. This is why there would be so many causalities on Earth and why Earth is so dangerous. I love that Celestials cannot morph their eyes completely. Even if they are a fish or a tiger or a pig, their eyes are the same. Their eyes are the windows to their souls and the soul cannot be changed. Here are some more resources I found to share with everyone. Some of these shed light to illuminate the conversation that occurs at the start of Pahmela's "Crusade" story. www.ipce.info/library_3/files/nanshoku_en.htmwww.us-japan.org/edomatsu/en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kagemaen.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kabukien.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edo_periodWhen writing your stories keep in mind that the Edo Era is sometimes called the Tokugawa period and that Edo was also the name of the capital city. Do not get confused. Now I have to share something a little bit humoring to me. Before I posted this message, before I posted anything above here at all, the ad at the top of the page for this thread was this: googleads.g.doubleclick.net/pagead/imgad?id=CKL35--E1Iz8LRDYBRhPMgg40VNGIweXGAI find that a little bit humoring. Thank you, Luz! I find artwork during the Edo era, particularly of the Ukiyo-e style fascinating. I found an online college lesson about Edo era artwork, including symbolism in the artwork, fashion and what was considered beautiful at this time in Japan. It was fascinating. I would post the link, but much of the article is about Shunga, Japanese porn around this time and there are links to dozens of examples and pictures and I'm not sure if it would be appropriate to post.
Also, on the subject of eyes, I love this fact about them as well for the exact reason you mention. I'm just curious about what they might use to try to hide this. For example, would they try specialty-made contact lenses that can be fitted to the eye (any eye, since on other worlds eye shape would be different depending on the morph.) and be programmed to project the correct eye for the morph? If so, using the human eye as an example, how would they control the pupil? Would this be a way to tell Celestial eyes even when they are wearing contacts? (They sometimes look like they have lazy eyes because the pupil doesn't always follow what they're looking at.) I started a question about it in the Celestial Morph section and I would love your input.

Hey all. This thread rocks, ladies. Listen, I'm not writing in Edo for the anthology, I'm illustrating Jennifer's script for the last story that takes place in Post-PT in Tokyo. Does anyone own this bundle over at IMVU: www.imvu.com/catalog/newsletter/gaRegalCafe.phpI'm short on funds right now because I have FOUR awesome moms to see to this month for Mother's Day (*wink wink*) but I'd really like to use this room for my set. (They sometimes look like they have lazy eyes because the pupil doesn't always follow what they're looking at.) I started a question about it in the Celestial Morph section and I would love your input. Launa, As we mentioned on the other thread, Celestials can't have contacts lenses... this upsets the balance between Terrapyres and Celestials. And in Japan, it's not appropriate in many situations. Take for example the following (emphasis mine): In many Asian, African and Latin American cultures, extended eye contact can be taken as an affront or a challenge of authority. It is often considered more polite to have only sporadic or brief eye contact, especially between people of different social registers (like a student and a teacher, or a child and his elder relatives). For example, if a Japanese woman avoids looking someone in the eyes, she is not showing a lack of interest nor is she demonstrating a lack of self-confidence; instead, she is being polite, respectful and appropriate according to her culture. So in many of these cultures, you should take care what kind of eye contact you initiate with those who are your social superiors or who are in authority over you, so that you are not considered disrespectful or overly bold. From another site: The Japanese commonly return eye contact to the neck region - a practice apparently dating back to Samurai days when peasants were decapitated for direct eye contact. In fact, this accords with my own direct experience. (http://www.hodu.com/eye-contact.shtml) Also, it’s important not to make a lot of direct eye contact. Japanese find this uncomfortable. One way to cope with this difficult situation is to look at the eyes and then away or preferably down before looking again. This doesn't mean that you should stare at your shoes. You can look at various places on the face before looking back at the eyes. For example eyebrows, mouth area etc. Try this simple rule: limit eye contact to 25% of the time. (http://www.all-about-teaching-english-in-japan.com/japaneseetiquette.html) See? No contacts necessary. Many other cultures, especially Asian and Middle Eastern, have very specific guidelines about eye contact. I think Celestials could definitely work around this aspect when in Human morph. Cris

A couple of quick things, everyone.
1. Can everyone avoid having Kuroikin in the blue and white komono I posted? Actually any blue komono, please. The posted komono is the one worn in the "Crusade" story.
2. Erik will be working with Summer on story #6 instead of with me. Gille, I'll handle buying the bundle.
3. If anyone needs the flute/sword meshed/textured for IMVU, please let me know asap so I can get it done properly in both forms as a male and female accessory.
That's it for now:)

Jennifer? In the PIDs you list for Kuroikin, the kimono is posted twice and her skin is not on the list. Do you have that PID? I need to use her quite a bit for my illustrations.

I just wanted to offer my services. I understand that every story is being illustrated either by the author or someone else and that, also, every story needs an ECG card designed for it. If there are authors who don't want to do this or don't have the time, I would be love to do both/either for any story. Mira

The original skin I chose was this one, Launa: www.imvu.com/shop/product.php?products_id=5432502But I like the one that Jennifer had/found much better. The eyeshadow colors play on Hylonome's TF and OF colors and bring that smokey blue to images -- which is nice since we need to stay away from the blue kimono. In a few flash backs that Hylonome has during my story, Erik is using the posted skin (which is this one: www.imvu.com/shop/product.php?products_id=5483421). Hope that helps! Summer P.S. Hope you're feeling better, Mama J!

Mira, would you do a card for my story? I'll send it to you as soon as it's done. Which, if the bullwhip Jenn is carrying is any indication, will be this weekend. **Ouch!** Geez. There she goes again! Cris

Hey everybody, I'm just trying to be a little protective here. We've got Mira offering to do artwork for people or cards. People should really take her up on this because she doesn't have other MG3K projects on her desk and really wants involved.
Just a reminder:
Please make sure that your artwork is PORTRAIT orientation, not landscape orientation.
Card images are submitted separately to Jennifer. The image has to be 1.13 x 1.13 inches ( not pixels). The higher the resolution, the better. No less than 600 dpi. With your image, supply brief text describing what the card does and flavor text. Look at the cards posted on the forum to get an idea of what we mean by BRIEF.
Thanks! Cris
