I created Eliena for a very specific reason: To connect with Celestials.
As the "origin" designer of the MG3K universe, everyone teased me early on because as a person I'm pretty darn Terrapyre. I rave (to dance), I ride motorcycles too fast, I box, etc. But I dreamt up Celestials, too, and I wanted to understand them better.
Like my father always said, "To understand, go all the way to the source." (Which, as an aside, is way I can read Greek and Hebrew... but that's another story.)
So I started thinking about Celestials *before* the Grail. Of course, I *know* the *very* beginning of Celestials. I know their very first origins -- something known by only one or two characters in the mythology. But I needed to come forward from that genesis to pre-Unification Hom.
And you know what I found? If wasn't all cream and roses, baby.
Eliena was born a fluke of nature and her parents abandoned her to an unwanted/orphaned children's home. Yep. What was the problem? Eliena was born entirely white. No swirling colors. She's from Irivale but she's just... white on white.
Eliena has something else going on to. Instead of the normal nonlinear memory that most Celestials have that provide glimpses and dream-like images, Eliena sees vivid, fine details. She sees so much detail, as a matter of fact, she often sees inventions in the far future and then creates them herself!
Eliena is also poet of some regard, writing in both Homidin and English in free verse.
To find out how Eliena escaped the stone-throwing bullies at her school and the lears of her community, check out "Together Alone."

One of the major projects that Brianne, Cris and I are tackling this week is a massive fiction timeline -- where every storyand novel falls in the mythology from 930 BC to 3000 AD (and beyond!).
Just a FYI for those fascinated with Eliena, she was born in 403 BC.
