Oh, thank you, Abbie!
Okay, okay... we should just jump right in, right? No need to over think it!
Let's tackle the standard King James to start, yeah? Mostly we'd be looking at the New Testament but I want to draw from some of the Old Testament as well. Scripture focused on the core values of the Terrapyres -- how to treat other people, how to treat ourselves... hm.
Maybe we should organize a little first LOL!
Great big project... itty bitty bit overwhelming

Well let's start out with categories first. Not random prayers like we did last time (though those were all really good).
So, let's pick out all or most of the categories we want our prayers to fall under first. Starting with the largest categories:
Universal Prayers: prayers that affect everyone in the vicinity.
Personal Prayers: prayers that affect only the Terrapyre who says them.
Intercession Prayers: prayers that affect the person (or people) for whom the Terrapyre prays.
Messenger Prayers: prayers that can be used to send a message to another person.
Battle Prayers: prayers that Terrapyres use in a fight, whether offensive or defensive.
Adoration Prayers: prayers that are simply ways of expressing praise, gratitude, and love to God.
I think pretty much all Terrapyre prayers will fall under these categories. Also if we do it this way, we can even things out (so we know what categories need "beefing up" while others might have plenty).
Also if we publish this or at any rate have a printed version, we can have 6 neat little chapters, each with an explanation of the type of prayer contained within. Then of course, the verses, with further explanation as to the purpose of that specific prayer and its effects.
It could be like a "companion" to the Celestials' study of Homidin, now that I think on it.
Jen, I love how you used the word "evil" there. It's so appropriate.
And yes, EJ, overthinking is bad. But organization is not! So let's be organizational champions

Abbie, great approach. Your focus with EJ will b to compile the Prayers then? I think that is most important to the fiction actually. Brianne designed and we produced a pocket-sized Terrapyre Prayerbook. If you'll PM me your mailing address, I'll have one sent to you. It has all the Prayers we have to date plus some choice blogs.
EJ? If you can wait on compiling Terrapyre scripture (Biblical stories, etc) until March, I could help tackle that part. Just let me know.

As we all know, it would just be super duper great to have a comprehensive Terrapyre Prayer Reference book. Kind of like it would be amazing to have a comprehensive book of our shooting inventory on the IMVU platform *frustrating sigh* But we won't have these things until we can shake staff free -- which means after first wave launch in Feb.
So... in the meantime... some facts:
1. Not all the book in the Human Bible will be part of the Terrapyre's Living Word scripture. Feel strongly about specific verses? Post and let us know. Don't let your favorite words be lost to the Terrapyres
2. All the books of the Bible that are used will be renamed. Some names that have been chosen already are:
Matthew = Moreh (Means Teacher. No one may ever know Matthew’s true name. He wanted only to bring glory to Christ with his writings and so he named his verses Moreh. Matthew presents Christ as a great teacher and man of parables and lessons and sermons. It may be found interesting that Matthew's true name was Levi and he was a Terrapyre with Cloak and Vanish as evidenced by the fact that he is mentioned by name in no other scripture and by the fact that he is often depicted as one of the apostles who returns in the End Times with wings.)
Mark = Ari (Lion in Hebrew. Mark's animal attribute as assigned by early Christian art, and the Catholic church. However, this is also a thematic reference to the gospel of Mark where Christ is presented as a vigorous and driven man of deeds and strength.)
Luke = Milim (Milim means Words. Luke was not an eye witness to Christ but rather a follower of Paul who was an eye witness to Christ. Luke is attributed to the New Testament Christian belief that Christ's words are as valid as His spoken words and how the written word is as dangerous and as joyous as a spoken word. In a Living Word Bible all stories of John the Baptist appear in Milim.)
John = Yedid (Beloved. As Christ calls John. Yedid is the elegant form of this word with both religious and romantic connotations.)
Psalms = Songs
3. Prayers must be tagged with their reference. Some real examples:
"Unto you the power to tread on serpents!" Milim 10
"Unto you control over the power of the enemy!" Milim 10
Note that the tag is given after the scripture. Also note that only the chapter is given, not the verse. Terrapyres call the chapters "verses" and they do not designate further than that. These are *living* words. So, when a Terrapyre calls to another to use Milim 10, he might be talking about any of several Prayers. It doesn't matter; the living intent behind the request should be specific enough.
This is not unlike the way Celestials speak to each other and ascertain various meanings from the same word or symbol.
4. Also please keep in mind that you (as the writer) are expected to and *should* edit these Prayers. We are not altering the word of God here, folks. We're *basing* the Terrapyre's religion on Christianity as a way of bringing it to an all new audience in a hip, untamed way. To this end... make the Prayers snappy! Keep the intent of the language but tighten the language. Remember that, most of time, these Prayers are shouted in the middle of battle.
That's all we have to share so far. Thanks all.

Peter has been named Pétros, meaning the foundation and the rock. Scripture from 2 Peter would still just be tagged as scripture from Pétros (no number before).

My schedule is insane for you, hon. MG3K's first big deadline is September 7. The Player's Handbook, the basic rules and the advanced rules will all be available as download after that. That's kinda awesome, yeah? *little smile*
More Prayer information: The prayers featured in the Living Word Prayer Handbook will be updated with correct book and verse names and numbers as soon as I'm done with the Player's Handbook on the 7th. I will post book names here. (After that, I'll be going on to finalize the four one-player decks.)

(P.S. Thank you for writing the Introduction and the Afterword, btw. I got them in email. However... the Afterword will need to be edited. My eyes are not "an unnerving blue" and no matter what color they are, they have no bearing... baring? sp?... on the game's O.S.. So there.)
