EJ has said before that Terrapyre's draw from a body of scripture that is made from some Old Testament, some New Testament, some Book of Mormon, etc. But what about other verses not found in human scriptures? Do Terrapyres have any scriptures that they all know/quote that is exclusive to Terrapyres?

Ah-hah! Erik! You are sneaky and mind-readery! LOL! You may have heard that after developing the story concept, Eric Chen turned over the script for "Eris: Black & Gold" to little ole me. Double eek!
At one point, I needed a Terrapyre Prayer that would be truly deadly. Not a jab but a real straight/hook combo that would have a Celestial down for the count or badly wounded if not dead. A Prayer seemed the most logical weapon (as opposed to a gun or sword, etc., which really have to pinpoint the synapse column) because it targets the entity as a whole. What scripture is a knock out punch? Hm. Hm. In the end, I made it up. I assume that other Terrapyres know the verse... and other authors can certainly check out the comic and reuse the verse.
So the answer is: Use any Christ-centric scripture. Or make it up. If you make it up, please post it here for me to officiate. When we get enough lines of original verse we'll add them as a section in the sourcebook.

In terms of finding concise scripture in very short order, Erik, have you tried: www.rbc.org/odb/odb.shtml Because these are scripture followed by a short essay (some well done, others I wish they would have allowed EJ to write) it can spark ideas. Also, I am certain that Abbie or myself would be willing to help you find any verse. My education is with the New Testament only (Armenian Apostolic Church specifically) with a New Testament Christian bent. I think I am off now to tend to the rabbits and to write some scripture. lol

You all know that But I have to at least pretend to be a little unbiased That being said, I have taken four and a half years of scripture study, and know a decent amount about old and new testament and the Book of Mormon. If anyone needs a specific reference or needs help, I would be happy to. To help you fine people on the forum and you writers out there... not happy to help the Terrapyres

Launa! LOL! You think we all have short memories? Yes, you wrote "Ganyemde" (the first Celestial novel) but you also wrote "Harper"! Ah... last time I checked, Harper is a carded Terrapyre... even one of the main deck carded Terrapyres. ... Does she know that you're not so into Terrapyres?! *gasp*
Thank you Sha and Launa for your offers for help.
Erik? If you just want to make stuff up, we can meet in a MG3K java chat room and pretend to be Terrapyre divine LOL!

Making stuff up is always good for those Scriptures that you "know are in there somewhere" But can't find them.
Launa....*sigh* You Celestials claim to be so intelligent, and yet...EJ has pointed out your flaws. Does Harper know that you prefer her archenemies? After all she's suffered, her creator has turned on her?
Oucch. xD
I shall continue to think of good Prayers, as always.

Erik, look to Abbi for awesome Terrapyre prayers. She can turn even esoteric verse into blow-em-away attacks. A bunch of her prayers will be in the updated sourcebook.
Launa? Your statement about Harper? *shivers* Cryptic and yet... engaging... makes me want to buy the book... which I've already read... four times... game designer's benefits! Yay me!

Maybe, but then what would be the point of having to say them? It seems a little bit complicated for something you might often use during a fight.
I'm a little torn on it, then. I sort of like the idea. Maybe a tattoo? Do Tattoos work on Terrapyres? They could get prayers tattooed onto them like jewelry (or as whatever), and then they would be doubly more powerful than just reciting the Scripture.

What about using Prayer beads as a focus? It makes you twice as likely to acurately perform a prayer?
Or what if a more spiritual member of the team can charge the beads with prayers that other lairmates may not be able to do? Perhaps because they're too young or don't have enough faith? They would be, like, prayers of protection. Prayers that the more faithful Terrapyre says for their friend, and, therefore, those prayers protect the wearer.

In my search to show that the Terrapyre Christ can be found everywhere and is utterly accessible and real, this idea of prayer beads comes from the string of Buddhist prayer beads, the japa mala. In all honesty, of course, I can also only draw from my own life (as I hope all writers coming here will do and share) and so I think about my grandmother's own string of New Testament Christian prayer beads -- 108 beads with a small olive wood ichthus hanging as the 109th piece and center. The beads themselves are bay berries, which resemble auburn wood (protection, clairvoyance, purification, healing... for those who believe in metaphysical properties of natural elements) and polished, black olive wood. She wore her beads wrapped around her wrist, like bracelets, and slid them off her wrist when praying. The beads were a tangible thing to hold and touch, roll between the fingers or palms, to help the mind focus and block out the outside world.
I imagine a Terrapyre would have skin memories when touching the beads. Reminders of prayers that could be recited perhaps. The beads would aide in focus and attention during chaotic battle. You describe them well, Launa.
Tattoos are a must LOL! The original deck of cards (and the forthcoming National Edition) both feature Terrapyre tattoos. The Eris "Immortal Waking" story does also. I see tattoos as armor that lays on the body... but they could also be attacks... points of focus. A cool idea there, Abbie.

Unlike my daughter, I tend to be more of a Terrapyre. Here is my suggestion to help with this topic. As to the content and origin of a prayer of power, a storyline could be developed based on the Books of Enoch. Terrapyres could have tried to hide the books because they contained prayers of power. For example, this passage comes from the Book of Enoch (several translations and versions are found on the internet):
Who will hereafter tread upon Mount Sinai; appear with his hosts; and be manifested in the strength of his power from heaven. All shall be afraid, and the Watchers be terrified. Great fear and trembling shall seize them, even to the ends of the earth. The lofty mountains shall be troubled, and the exalted hills depressed, melting like a honeycomb in the flame. The earth shall be immerged, and all things which are in it perish; while judgment shall come upon all, even upon all the righteous: But to them shall he give peace: he shall preserve the elect, and towards them exercise clemency. Then shall all belong to God; be happy and blessed; and the splendour of the Godhead shall illuminate them.
History of the Book of Enoch: Prior to the eighteenth century, scholars had believed the Book of Enoch to be irretrievably lost: composed long before the birth of Christ, and considered to be one of the most important pieces of Jewish mystical literature, it was only known from fragments and from references to it in other texts. The Books of Enoch are Hebrew apocryphal books. They were originally written in Aramaic rather than Hebrew and not included in the canon of the Hebrew Bible or in the Christian Old Testament. It was included in the collection of other materials generally called pseudepigrapha (various pseudonymous or anonymous Jewish religious writings of the period 200 BC to 200 AD). The original version was lost about the end of the fourth century, and only fragments remained, but James Bruce, the Scottish explorer, brought back a copy in Ethiopian from Abyssinia in 1773, which was probably made from the version known to the early Greeks. The book also deals with the history of the fallen angels, their relations with the human species, and the foundations of magic. The first book of Enoch was known from a surviving Ethiopian translation, parts of which were found in the caves of Qumran among the Dead Sea Scrolls. In 1892, however, R. H. Charles found a second manuscript of the Book of Enoch, which existed in a Slavonic text. Upon seeing the book, he also discovered that it was an entirely different Book of Enoch, and he soon translated and published it. Finally, a third Book of Enoch, which has circulated

I have some questions:
Do these Terrapyre prayer beads have a name? Are they used with ritualized prayer like rosary? Do Terrapyre's have ritualized prayer? Do they pray the Lord's Prayer?
I like very much what Mr. Sorensen has said here about apocryphal texts and their inclusion of very power prayer material. But can we use these texts as one might argue they are not Christ-centric? What is our position on Terrapyres drawing from the Old Testament? How do we manage the differences between the Mardi Gras 3000 mythology regarding Angels and these other ancient texts?
