*Love* the two-tone, Brianne. Sporty and retro all at once. Classy car for a classy grrl.
Congratulations, Abbie!! I mean, I never doubted it for a moment. You've got crazy skillz!

Mira? I am so jealous I have no words. Seriously. La Push is one of the most gorgeous places on the planet. Second Beach is pure magic. Will you be taking pictures? The way you edit your photos reminds me so much of Celestials. As someone with an adoration of Eliena and Lynor as well, (as well as their son, Chariklo) who has followed them from the beginning, I love what you have been doing with their story and environment. I always thought of their story being one of the most visual in the brand. They are true art, in word and imagery. So I guess that's my rave. I love that we have someone who, in my opinion, loves them and is doing them justice. Thank you. (Even if I am turning green with jealousy. )

Hey Mira? You're not up there alone are you? Soph and I keep hearing reports of rabid Twihard fans lurking in the trees :} Have a great time, hon. You're a wonderful addition to the forum.
My rave: I've got the next two days off and I'm going into Lala Land and finding Jennifer a producer... even if it kills me. Soph has been listening to her CDs nonstop this last week and she literally handed me her "little black book" this morning.
Do you even read the Rave section, my bff? I'm going to make sure you get an upright and studio time, Rat Princess. I promise you. You deserve it.

Gille, you are a sweetheart and you know you'll always be my BFF and that's just that. But grrl? A Meghan costs $1400 and I'd need two months of practice before studio time could be used at $350 or $800 per hour. Gille... I'm not ready for anything that big and any producer at this point would have to be a *sponsor* looking for a long term investment.
Plus... Gille? I have pro-quality recording equipment (four layer recording and mics) plus a CD printer and access to a print service that does full-color liner note inserts. I simply don't have a studio harp. I could offer a producer a high-end return on CD sales but there would be lag. I just think this isn't quite right for now.
My rave? I have the best BFF in the whole wide world.
Thank you, Gillian.
Yours, Jennifer

Thanks Jen! I'm really excited. I'm a "big bad BFA" now. Now I just have to make it through the end of the semester and my sister in law's wedding (which is in like...2 weeks, and 2 families staying at our house O__O) and I'll be ok. OH HEY! I have a job interview on Monday! A friend of mine works at the ladies' underwear outlet nearby, and I stopped in for an application. I said "I'll probably drop it off tomorrow," so she proceeded to tell her boss I'd be in the next day and that they needed to hire me. So I dropped it off and at first the lady was kinda like, "Oh, the hiring lady's not back till Monday..." but then I mentioned Gretchen (friend) and she brightened right up. "OH! You're that friend! Ok. Well we'll certainly get back to you asap." Then yesterday (the next day) she called and set me up an interview. Gretchen is awesome, because I might totally have a job! YAY! Just in time for the summer, too! And, Jen: You can make yourself a recording studio with a small room if you save up egg cartons. You open the egg cartons and glue/attach them to the walls, the back of the door, what have you. Then hang heavy black curtains over top on the walls, and you have yourself a nice little recording room! I bet you could get some of those egg pallets from a local restaurant - eggs come in a box, and each layer has like a 12"x12" flat of cardboard carton...probably 8-10 in each box. If you ask them to save up all their egg cartons for a week for you, you would probably have enough for a whole room.

Jennifer? I'm still looking for your sponsor/producer. Pretty much, grrl, I'm not listening to you.
Abbie? You are so '70s fabulous and I don't think you even know it. No wonder Jennifer raves about you to me all the time. That's a great idea with the egg flats. Soph has a mini studio space set up in our attic. We built a wall partitioning off one end and she lined the whole thing with those purple egg flats. We call it the Purple Egg or just her Egg. We actually bought the eggs and then donated the eggs (loose) to a local soup kitchen -- they were thrilled. We keep a paper stuck to the fridge that tracks her hours in her egg. At $680/hr (the rate for the studio she used in 2009) we've saved fifty-four billion dollars already this year.
In short: Great idea, Abbie.

Hahaha, yes, I WASN'T BORN IN THE 70s! But my parents were in college/got married/had 2 kids, so great things definitely happened then. And purple egg cartons! A fashionable way to use cool stuff! And that O__O is a lot of money saved! Way to go Soph! So....you gonna do it, Jen? And it's funny that you rave about me. I rave about MG3k to anyone who will listen. "Hey, you know, there's this little publisher out in Washington, and an incredible project I'm a part of..." Can't wait to hear about your musics, too! Maybe I can record some vocals whenever I can finally get out there to visit! I do have a Youtube account: I record my voice and music tracks from GarageBand to the poetry of Alison Croggon (Australian poet & author of my FAVORITE books, the Pellinor series) from her fantasy books. It's fun. I just use my spare bedroom, though, nothing as fancy as a real studio. It's paneled on all the walls, and wood floors, and surprisingly, that works really well to cut out extra sound. I have recorded many songs, but 4 of them are on Youtube: www.youtube.com/user/BardofPellinor*shameless plug* Anyway, that's not my normal singing style (I'm classically/opera trained) but it's more fun because with GarageBand I can be the entire orchestra. Which is suhweet! ANYWAY that's what I do in my spare time when I SHOULD be writing for MG3k. *cough* ...Now, my book is nearly 105,000 words and I'm trying to finish this chapter before bed. Once I finish Slave of Kyris up, I'll be free to explore other literary avenues again. Almost there!!! <3 I love you guys. It just makes my day to see that little check mark on a forum indicating a post.

Abbie, I adore your shameless plugs every single time you post them. And you know why? They are exactly that. Without shame. You are massively talented and I continue to be amazed and honored to have you here, to know you, and to work with you. I look forward to when you'll have more time for MG3K but I enjoy supporting you now in everything else that you do -- just like you've supported me through computer troubles, "Elijah" planning, and even egg carton studio dreams :} As for whether or not I'll do it... the only room really appropriate for an attack of the egg cartons would be... hm... the downstairs room that Cris once called her office room. It has a concrete floor with thick ceramic tile over it, one wall under ground, and is a small space. Hm. Of I could just check the non-carton areas -- the Sky Room, which is an attic room we finished with gorgeous honey/cinnamon wall planks and floor boards, might just have all the sound I'd need. I would just need to figure a way to haul equipment safely up and down the pull-down stair. Fine electronics can't stay up there because of one pesky squirrel and heat fluctuations. You have me thinking, though

Yeah, the egg carton thing totally works. I actually made a tape (yes, I'm dating myself) of myself which you may all hear when I am dead. I didn't have a fancy 4-track or anything but I used egg carton sound proofing and the recording was very clear.
If you have designs on my office, let me know so I can move my robots to another part of the house. You and Brianne eat enough eggs that it should only take a couple of months to sound proof a studio... just saying.

LOL! XD Cris! How many eggs I eat (let alone how many eggs Brianne and I eat) is a private matter! Maybe we just love chickens... oh, I miss having chickens. Those fluffy, chubby cuties! Eggs are good for you! You're so right, Abbie And low-carb, too!
