After a very hectic autumn, I finally just can't stay away any longer. This lurker is coming home.
My name is Jess and I am a MG3K Addict.
That's a weight off my shoulders. Whew!
Actually, I'm addicted to anything Angel is up to. I first came to know her at a Los Angeles club where she was known as a heck of a dancer (read: Terrapyre) and later as a sure thing fight-clubber (oh, can I say that in public?). We became friends and she stood with me through a nasty breakup and the birth of my sweetie Kieghan, or, as he's better known: Mr. Taco for his ten-a-day taco habit with extra seasons. It wouldn't actually be overly dramatic for me to say that falling in love with Terrapyres prepared me more for being a single mom than any other part of my life.
I'm a closet geek with a serious love of CAD and 3D meshing. I spend more hours "plugged in" 3dStudioMax, Bryce, Poser and Daz than Erik and Matt spend in Warcraft combined. I love to dance. I love LA. I am a card-carrying princesses and I play a mean hand of MG3K (Celestials are my new thing, thank you). My biggest love is my son. Even if his biggest love is probably tacos... followed by his Auntie Angel whom he fully intends to marry in twenty or so years. I've tried to explain to him that beaning your wife-to-be with a sippy is not a good start.
I'm glad to be back on the forum. I'm available for anyone who needs any meshes or textures for MG3K cosplay on the IMVU platform.
Jess

Jessica insists I post but she is also trying to take over the computer to respond to Brianne. I will hurry.
I am a MG3K player and very much in love with the mythology behind the game. I am a Catholic and have only come to the U.S.A. very recently. I am working on my citizenship and am very happy to be here. I feel excited and proud at the same time.
I love to read the fiction and lurk to see all of you working together. I am counting the days until the next tournament. I want to raise my rank. That Pip girl needs to be taken down, I think.

I'm sure this has already been done by the admin and other fancy officials, but I just wanted to post a public welcome to Di'nay, our newest member. I look forward to meeting someone new like me to this amazing universe. Here, I'll even post my long-overdo intro:
I first met Angel at a dance club in LA several years ago even though we had worked with some of the same people on and off. It was only about four months ago that I learned about the project that is her heart, Mardi Gras 3000, and threw myself into learning anything and everything about it. I was completly intrigued by the vast range of experiences that a Terrapyre or a Celestial could have in this universe and I was not blind to the impact such an inclusive community would have on gamers and nongamers alike. I use my years working in tv and film to the table now to help launch the visual part of MG3K -- comics, animation, and graohic novels.
In short? I'm here because I think this community, working together, can actually make a difference.

I guess I'm one of the fancy officials, eh, Summer? I did indeed welcome Di'nay via PM but I'll repeat the effort here: Hey, Di'nay!
And a public welcome (and a warm hug, grrl) to you, too, Summer.
We're a very lucky community.

A public welcome, Summer and Di'nay! I am so excited to see new members join the community. Each person, as Summer has certainly shown, bring so many wonderful, exciting and new opportunities, talents and ideas to the Mardi Gras 3000 universe. Can't wait to work with each of you!

Ahem... yes... um... well... As much as I'd rather stay in the shadows, I figure it behooves me to at least stick my head out long enough to say hello to all you kind people. I know Jennifer and Cris through Orchard House Press' continued efforts to publish stories by Chris Anne Wolfe.
I'm still learning the ways of Celestials and Terrapyres, and I know nothing about ECGs, avatars, and IMVU... So why am I here, you ask? That's a question for the ages. If nothing else, perhaps I can provide some comic relief, in a Winnie-the-Pooh fashion - "Amusing in a quiet sort of way, but not very helpful."
(see, it worked, didn't it?!?) LOL

You know, Di'nay, comic relief is great but you don't need to know a thing about ECGs or IMVU to contribute on a huge scale here. The real currency is IDEAS.
For instance:
Anthony, a twenty-something bar-tender and long-time "adopted" kiddo of Jennifer and Cris came up with most of the idea for Bands, wristlets quantum loaded with raw matter that compile useful stuff. It was just an idea. A dream. And now it is vital for fiction writers in the universe. My story for the anthology, for instance, would be impossible without Bands.
CCG knowledge is only needed if you intend to play the game. The game itself is not open source so community members don't build for it (only Jennifer has that permission as the OS designer). So no need there You can learn to play online, if you want, when the online version reopens in the Fall of 2010.
As for IMVU, that's used primarily for socializing and for comic building. It's easy to pick up... but, again, not required.
Just ideas are good enough around here

Great to have you back with us, Abbie, and I love your new handle. I have a question for you, too Remember back (several forums ago) you posted IMVU pictures of your Twins from your story "Doubletake"? Do you still have them? Would you build threads for them again in the Fiction Terrapyres section? I'm interested in featuring them on some National Edition cards in the CCG

Jennifer? Are you opening up a conversation about the TBA cards? If this is open to all, could you post in the gaming threads? Thanks!

Really glad to be back. New twist at work has me on an insane schedule but I have decided today that enough is enough. I'm going to carve out daily time for MG3K if I have to bleed for it. I just love what everyone is doing here.
